Vote

Please go here for information on how to vote.

If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in the city of Peterborough, a Canadian citizen, and at least 18 years of age, you are eligible to vote. You qualify to vote if:

  • You live in the city of Peterborough; or

  • You do not live in the city of Peterborough, but you personally own or rent property here; or

  • You do not live in the city of Peterborough, but your spouse personally owns or rents property here.

If you are a student aged 18 or older in the city of Peterborough you are eligible to vote. If you consider your “home” to be in another municipality where you live when you are not attending school, you can vote in both municipalities.

Students who are aged 18 or older, and living in Peterborough while attending school can vote in the Peterborough municipal election as well as in their home municipality.

Residents can visit voterlookup.cato confirm whether they are on the voting list. Call them at 1-866-296-6722 or TTY: 1-877-889-6722.

The voters’ list becomes official on September 1, 2022. After that date, you must apply to the City Clerk to add your name or correct your information.
